"I was living now in my first apartment, at 321 East 45th Street, and working at Bookmasters Bookstore on Broad-way off of Times Square. Allen Ginsberg, whom I'd met, came into the store once or twice."But otherwise nada. I don't think (even though the logotype is similar) that there's any connection between Bookmasters the midwestern printer and Bookmasters Bookstore in Times Square.
Given the location, the dated phone number, the order form, and Ginsberg's patronage, I wonder if their business was mostly sending brown paper packages of books to the home addresses of tourists from cities with, um, more limited bookstores and tastes. I love that the order form implies that Bookmasters stocked every book in the world. Note that the customer writes in the price--I'm sure that never caused any misunderstandings.

The big graphic has cycled off the home page now, but last week Coudal was using Bookman Swash to set people's porn names. You can still see a porn name–free sample (with an explanation of what the hell I'm talking about) over there.
I did not enter the contest, because I am lazy, but I do have the best porn name: Butterball King. Or maybe it's more of a burlesque name.
Ah, Bookman Swash it is. Good call, India.
I just turned in cover comps for the memoir of a professional sex worker and I didn't use Bookman Swash. My bad. I'll have to use it on the back cover or something. Hmmm, maybe the blurbs can be in Bookman Swash.
